Synopsis

"Genius" tells the true story of Maxwell Perkins (Colin Firth), a Charles Scribner's Sons editor who discovers young author Thomas Wolfe (Jude Law). Perkins guides Wolfe's novel "Look Homeward, Angel" to success.


Their professional relationship evolves into an intense friendship, complicated by Wolfe's ego and creativity clashing with Perkins's quest for literary quality. Meanwhile, Perkins faces pressure from his wife, Louise (Laura Linney), and Wolfe's mistress, Aline Bernstein (Nicole Kidman).
